This is a blog where I share my thoughts and experiences on string music education and technology integration, with a focus on Mac hardware and software and iOS (the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch operating system).

I have always seemed to be an early adopter of various technologies, and dubbed “Mr. Gadget” by several friends. I have been a Mac user since 1992 and an iPhone user since its inception in 2007. I enjoy helping people with various aspects of technology, so don’t be afraid to contact me. While I can help with some areas of Windows, I am a Mac specialist and even spent a summer working at an Apple Retail Store. Someday, I’m hoping to develop an iOS app, but am not yet a programmer. It’s on the bucket list!

For 16 years, I was an orchestra director/string specialist in school districts in Nevada, Florida, and Ohio. I taught elementary, middle, and high school orchestra, and high school class guitar.  In 2012, I started a new career path in higher education as Assistant Professor of Music Education at Kennesaw State University.  I am in the process of completing my dissertation to earn a Ph.D. in music education (minor in educational technology) at the Ohio State University.

Additionally, I am working for Hal Leonard Corporation as an Essential Elements clinician, consultant, and contributing editor and as conductor of the Georgia Symphony Youth Camerata Orchestra.

I am available to present educational sessions for your school, district, or state professional development conference.  My main focus is string pedagogy and educational technology. I also am an experienced orchestral conductor, clinician and adjudicator.  Please contact me or visit my homepage to inquire more.

My goal is to keep this site updated with fresh new ideas and resources for practitioners to utilize in their own classrooms. It is my hope that it will be of use to you.  Please feel free to comment if you found something useful or contact me if you have questions.  I love talking tech!
